Brute force attack or Brute forcing

Brute force attack is a very dangerous attack in which an intruder or a hacker try different types of code or password combinations to bypass your security most often your password. It is a very common and a well known attack among hackers groups, and can be achieved easily by means of some particular softwares e.g, hydra.
If your password is not strong enough, it can bypassed easily by using brute force attack. Therefore I told you to create a strong password. How does this attack works?

This attack was simply created to keep one thing in mind that every password on this earth contains digits, alphabets and some special characters. In a brute force attack a hacker uses the combination of digits, alphabets, dictionary and special characters, explicitly or using softwares. Every time you or a software program creates a combination of some digits, alphabets and alphanumeric values or depends on the software algorithm to check that the application accepts the generated code or not, if it accepts, it gives you the actual password of the application and now you're up and running, otherwise it continues for different combinations.

Why use Brute force attack?

You can use brute force attack for your good or in evil deeds, as you all know everything has two aspects, so it totally depends on you that what aspect you choose to seeing anything.
I use brute force attack when I forgot my documents passwords, so I m just trying this thing on my own not on others.
Note: Do not use this attack for bed purpose. This post has written just for study point of view. Do it on your own responsibility.

How to save yourself from Brute force attack?

For users

In order to safe yourself from this attack you need to create a strong password because strong password combination is not that easy task to bypass, and strong passwords take a lot of time to bypass. If your password only contain digits or same kind of characters it will take a while to breech. Remember never use words which are available in the dictionary. Always use strong passwords to safe your self from being hacked.

For Software or an application programmer

If your an application programmer or a software programmer and want to safe your application from brute force attack then allow your users to enter passwords upto a given terns, and use strong password policies so that every user must have a strong password that can't be hacked easily.
