What is ISDN?
ISDN is an acronym of Integrated Services Digital Network, ISDN is working since a long time, in order to transmit data e.g. voice, images, video over a channel or medium in the digital form. ISDN provides speed upto 128 kbps with 20 MHZ frequency.
ISDN transmit data over telephone lines which provides speed and data without any noise or distortion, because it (data) travels in the digital form. Therefore ISDN is also called switched telephone networks.
ISDN uses PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) as a medium in order to transmit data without any distortion, therefore it is used by many broadcasting companies which provides live telecast. There is no need of any MODEM in ISDN because data travels in the digital form.
