What is SEO (Search Engine Optimization)?


SEO is an acronym of Search Engine Optimization and is basically used to get a page rank and SERP (Search Engine Result Page) rank in Google, Yahoo, Bing like search engines. It is a part of Internet marketing strategies, there are more like PPC. Technically we follow SEO strategies to make our site or content Google friendly. More Google-friendliness helps to achieve a good rank in Google and other search engines. SEO is categorized in two fields like:

1. On-page SEO
2. Off-page SEO

Why use SEO?

SEO is very important for today's websites because of a lot of websites available over the Internet which may provide the same results related to your queries, whereas Google and other search engines only display 10 results per page and these 10 result comes in top 10 rankings which are given by search engines. So this place is like a battlefield where you have to compete with your rivals or opponents, to get a page rank under 10.

If you don't Use SEO on your site, your site may not be visible by the rest of the world and you will not get any kind of benefit from your website.
The main focus to use SEO make your site visible under 10 search results of the search engines, so that you can get traffic on your site or blog, which may very helpful to you to increase your business or sells through your website. For instance, if you have a website which provides sells and purchase services to their customer without SEO then what would happen? Google or other search engines will display the results of the sites whose search engine is familiar instead. 

SEO basically tells Google or other search engines about your website that what your site is? and what does it do? So if you hand over this info to the search engine obviously it would then consider that what is your site for ? then it will store the basic information of your site, now search engine knows about your site to display it in the search results. Now you get how much SEO is important to your site.
